Establishing a Cure – Logo Design Competition

We are excited to announce an open competition to design the logo for an upcoming sickle cell clinical trial.

The trial: haploidentical donor (50% matched donor) stem cell donor transplant clinical trial for adults with sickle cell disease is due to open to recruitment in July 2022 at multiple sites across the UK.

In partnership with the trial, we are launching a competition for budding designers to create the official logo.

The winning entry will be used as the official logo for the trial, used UK wide online and in print and the winner will get a £100 Amazon voucher!

Here are the guidelines for the competition.

The logo must:

  • Reference sickle cell (and be relevant to the trial)
  • Be able to be viewed and understood when printed in black and white (as well as colour)
  • Be clear when printed in miniature (1cm by 1cm) on trial materials
  • Be completely your own design
  • Be submitted in a PNG file format

Intellectual Property

  • All submissions must be your own original work and have not been copied from others or from previous designs, including your own, and do not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity
  • The winning logo will become the sole property of the Sickle Cell Society and may be used for any purposes relating to the trial, including, but not limited to, display on websites, social media, posters, print and other materials.
  • The Sickle Cell Society shall have the right to adapt, edit, modify, or otherwise use the winning submission in part or in its entirety in whatever manner it deems appropriate.
  • The Sickle Cell Society reserves the right to use any other entry for promotional purposes in the future.
  • If the winner is determined to have violated any rules, they will be required to forfeit or return the prize (£100 Amazon voucher), even if the determination is made after the prize has been awarded.
